Design Development Exercise ( update)
The design development exercise was a colour experiment to find out more suitable colours for the main purpose of the project which is a primary school and the target audience are the kids. so For that I tried many colours theories to find out which one was the most suitable one
I started by testing the analogous theory which are the colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel. I used pink, prurple, fushia and lilac because they are bright colours and I wanted to try a bright colour because children are energetic and having a bright building can lift up their spirits further
For the second I tested with the same colour theory but instead of pink, I used different shades of blues that are next to each other on the colour wheel and this was my favourite because I relate blue to education and it makes feel adventurous and make me want to explore
Even though, this was my favourite, I continued to test colours and tested split complimentary theory which is two colours opposite to one on the colour wheel. I used yellow, purple and pink
I tested this one with complimentary theory which is colours that are opposite to each other on the colour wheel. I used orange and blue because I like how it looks when they are combined to each other and it blends well with the wood
And to finish, I did polychromatic theory which is using a lot of different colours because I was thinking about the clowns and how children are colourful beings
