WHITE OAK WOOD

I am going to use white oak wood for façade and the lean to around the back of the structure .White oak wood is a highly sustainable material for the construction as well , it is long- lasting (McCutcheon, 2023) . Wood in general can be reused and recycled and absorb the carbon around it (oaktimberstructures.co.uk, 2023) . In addition another reason for me to choose this material , white oak is one of the state symbols of Connecticut (CT.gov - Connecticut’s Official State Website, 2024) . It is affordable and easy to find at the state there is many stores whom sells white oak wood for construction at the state .

GLASS

Façade is mostly going to be covered with windows so glass is the material I am going to use . Glass is another highly sustainable material because of it is reusable and %100 recyclable (FEVE, n.d. ). The main reason I am using many windows is getting maximum natural lighting from the sun . I addition with the double and triple -glazed windows with inert glass filing windows are improving the isolation coating (Williams, 2020).

STEEL

I am going to use steel for the construction of the building , steel is an sustainable material however with the proper stell building because stell producing is cause of %8 Co emissions (Bhatnagar, 2021) . Stell is an reusable , durable , strong and can be perfectly recycled (www.nipponsteel.com, n.d.).

FERROCK

I will use Ferrock to hold the structure of the building together, ferrock is a material that is made from recycled materials such as waste steel dust (Izat Hamakareem, 2022). Using this will make the structure stable and resistant. I am going to recover this with oak wood from the inside and outside.

At the next post I am going to mention sustainable systems I am planning to use .
