Site and Environmental considerations

My site is located in New Cromwell Connecticut and is close to route 9. The primary school is located exactly in between the residential housing and and social housing which is good location for children to access school easily because it is near their home and this also can facilitate the parents to drop their and pick up their kids in time without worrying about traffic.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATION

The temperature in New Cromwell can go up to 88 Fahrenheit and as low as 44 Fahrenheit (wunderground, 2024). With these temperature changes, Oak wood is good option because it can resist temperature changes easily if well maintained

During summer, New Crowell get really hot (AccuWeather, 2024) and using glass is very beneficial because reflective or tinted glass can cut down on heat giving a cooler temperature inside the building.

Even though Connecticut is one of the ten least windy state of the united stated (worldpopulationreview, 2024) and because of that I should make sure that the structure of the building is strong so that it can withstand wind and storm. Oak wood is good for the structural part because of its strength.

Because everything has burnt down in New Cromwell and that there is little vegetation, I will create a forest around the school to represent each kid that attends the school. This will help give shade to the building and will gave a cooler climate during summer providing oxygen and it will also help give privacy to the children and the school because it ill keep the school away from the population and the noise on the route 9.
